blithfieldfinishFinally, things are coming together. Thanks to the great training programs from my coach and some dedicated training I have finally won my first race. Sunday saw the last of the three GB team qualifier races take place in wet and chilly conditions.
I knew when I woke up that I was going to do well. I felt the best I have felt all season and was ready to go. After a very good start in the swim I thought I would take a swim win but luck was not on my side and I ended up chocking on a huge wave of water losing around 30 seconds to the leaders. This was made up on the run though with an inspirational 17:52 for 5k’s my fastest 5k in around 5 years. My ride was not the fastest but was not far behind the leaders, it was a tough slippery and slightly hilly course which kept me on my toes the whole way.
Two more races left in the UK for this year before I head off to Australia for the Triathlon world champs.

More news to come.
